Olympic silver medallist Samantha Murray heads up a young British team looking to kick start the 2014 modern pentathlon World Cup season with a strong showing in Mexico this week.

Second at London 2012, the 24 year old is the most experienced member of the eight-strong team in which half of the athletes are 21 or younger.

Murray, who is currently ranked 16th in the world, is instead joined by Kate French and the Scottish duo of Freyja Prentice and 19-year-old Jo Muir, with the latter contesting her second World Cup having made her debut a year ago in Palm Springs. 2012 World Champion Mhairi Spence will not be making an appearance as she works her way back to fitness following injuries.

The five-day World Cup event begins tomorrow, Wednesday 26 February, in Acapulco, Mexico.
